real advice for pnms

When you are talking to the girls they will lead with a question, probably something along the lines of "what'd you do this summer" "what are you studying", etc. After you answer their question, you should expand on your answer (don't just say "oh I'm studying communications" and leave it at that, tell them WHY you are studying that, but keep it reasonably brief), and then you should ask THEM what THEY study ("what about you?"). Turning the question back to them makes it a conversation instead of an interview. All people love to talk about themselves, including the girls rushing you. You will stand out to them if you do this.

For later rounds, you should come prepared with questions you can ask during rounds that are relative and specific. For example, on sisterhood day you could ask, "how did you know XYZ house was right for you?", "what is your favorite memory with your sorority?". On philanthropy day you could ask, "what is your favorite event you hold for this philanthropy?" or if you have some sort of connection to the cause now would be an awesome time to bring it up. But don't think that on philanthropy day you only have to talk about the philanthropy. If the conversation naturally leads elsewhere, take that and go with it.

Another tip, I would avoid name dropping by saying oh I know so and so because we went to high school together, because most likely they already know. Same goes for saying you're a legacy because they already know that as well. However, if someone in your family was in the sorority but you aren't their legacy (a cousin, aunt, etc), you could bring that up and just say, "I know she had a great time being an XYZ and made lots of amazing friends", etc.

I hope this was helpful. This is stuff I honestly didn't realize until after I had been through it on the other side!

Definitely do all of this. This is way more important than what brands you wear or what country club you belong to, because being a good conversationalist is something money can't buy.
