to pnm’s:
by: DfwalI know recruitment is just a few days away and the anxiety and stress is beginning to reach a peak. As an active member of one of the sororities at UA, just know that we are just as nervous as you are. I also want to stress the importance of keeping an open mind. Every year the houses change, usually for the better. Some of the “low teir” houses on this site have worked really hard this year and almost every single chapter on campus (except theta, who is in the process of receiving a new house) have gorgeous houses. Please don’t let what people say on this site affect how you personally perceive a chapter. When I received a bid from my current chapter I almost let what people say and the “reputation” of the house keep me from accepting. Let me say that my house is considered “low teir” and as an active member I couldn’t disagree more. I am so thankful that I disregarded the nasty things people said about my house and joined my sorority. The diversity and inclusiveness has surprised me in best way possible, and the negative things said have been proven to be false. Every house has problems, and every house has things they are working to improve on. I just want to let every PNM know that writing off a chapter based on what other people say can lead you to join a house that may not be the best fit for you. Give every house a chance, because in the end it is about choosing a chapter that makes you feel like home. I can’t wait for recruitment to start, and I hope that you girls find a chapter that accepts you with open arms!
