Luckily trolls don't get to go through recruitment, so you'll be fine with your made up drama. :)

Do you think they’ll address it with the PNMS or will it be the elephant in the room?

Neither.

If by “neither” you mean that PNM’s won’t know or don’t care - I think you’re kidding yourself.

It’s either going to be something they talk about, or the thing that everybody is afraid to mention.

I agree there is no use arguing this. In about a week you will know.

Assuming you are in the know, it seems APhi is going to take an ignore it attitude - and assume everyone of interest has taken a one bad seed/you have cleaned house belief and understanding into recruitment.

I am actually hoping you do well, only time will tell. \n\n\n\n\n

I mean to be fair their nationals already let them get to this point where they have a sub 3.0 gpa and a decent percentage of members not paying dues... Their hot girl only strategy works really well at schools that require great grades for admission in the first place but isn’t so successful at schools like Alabama.

The big question is if the girls their nationals wants them to take this year will want them back. I guess we’ll know soon enough.

I really don’t want to argue this.

Agree - there must be a strategy.

Disagree - that this is a run of the mill “scandal” in the “everyone” has similar skeletons and just ignores them. This got much more (National) attention than most “scandals and the house has reacted by cleaning house - a good thing.

The question is how do they capitalize on “change” or is that even the “strategy”. You seem to side with “let it pass”, personally I’d go another way and hit it head on.

Seems neither of us has a say, but admit I am curious on what they do which prompted my initial question.

Again, Whatever they choose i do sincerely hope it works in terms of succeeding.

One more point - this is a competitive rush environment with other strong houses. So there are other very good options for Pnms that would have historically liked APhi.

I don’t envy those developing “the strategy”.

Enough said. And I’ll stay tuned to actives to see how they think it went\n\n\n\n\n

I think the video should be the least of PNMs worries with alpha phi right now. The issues that have way more impact on everyday life are the fact that they just lost over 100 members and they probably have terrible relations with nationals right now. I can’t imagine there are a lot of good feelings in that house, a lot of them probably just had good friends kicked out and they’re about to have to rush 2200 PNMs with maybe 150 actives. I really do hope they are successful but then the challenge will be keeping the new members once they realize what they’ve gotten into. Just an unfortunate situation all around.

I got the general feeling that those who were pissed their friends were kicked out also left, and those who stayed aren't going to make it worse because they are pissed, but I could be reading what I've seen/heard totally wrong

Honestly I don't hold everyone responsible cause from what I read they kicked a lot of people out but I really hope I don't end up in Alpha Phi

Is that why so many actives left?

A lot were kicked out, which led a lot more to drop. No telling how many came back from summer break

Honestly, I would never say anything if it’s not mentioned and I’ll be nice during recruitment.

But am hoping to have other choices.

If they cleaned house they deserve a fair consideration

As I see it, Aphi's biggest issues aren't the scandal itself but the fallout from the scandal. They're operating a house with 200 members. I do believe more will drop as they return to school this year. This will make for a challenging recruitment. I wish them well but it won't be an easy year for them. I think their biggest challenge will be their actual return rates which will be lower than previous years and that's hard to cure in this year's recruitment.
