by: Phi muWhy is Phi Mu consistently ranked either 1 or 2? They’re definitely a good house but to be number 1 I feel like a house should be well liked on campus and they’re just not. I never meet any girls who speak highly of phi mus like they do alpha chi, tri delt, even xo etc. nobody likes Phi Mu so why are they slated top in so many ranks? Half genuinely curious half trolling

Honest answer is that the reason PM is rated so highly on this site is because so many PM actives, alumni and moms are on the site regularly and constantly post to create he impressive that PM is THE top house.
On campus, it's a completely different story. PM is highly regarded by some, but not by all. Definitely has a type.
For the old guard (both in state and traditional big city OOS), it is not a top choice.

there ARE many who find them annoying. However, during recruitment they have a lot of interest and that’s what ranks them high.
My opinion, many girls want to see if they can get picked by the “big White House on the corner”, even if it’s not a place they can really see themselves in.
And they are selective, with put together girls and decent grades, OR and social with the OR frats. \n\n\n\n\n

It’s always interesting how the perception of looks/grades houses works.
If you look at the grade reports, alpha gam is almost always in top 3 or 5 and usually doesn’t get the rep for grades.
Phi mu usually gets put on “grades focused” lists or it’s pointed out that they don’t have bad grades, but kd usually has higher grades and no one would ever call KD a grades house

It’s a matter of personalities. PM’s members just don’t project “academic focus” like some others try to do. They are basically in the middle group of grades along with kappa, kd, etc.

I think AGD DOES have a huge reputation as a grades-focused house, along with AXO and XO. Also those three are seen as the most religious (Christian) focused.
It's been a long time since PM was top 5 in grades.

Do you actually attend the University of Alabama, or did you get lost on the way to your actual school's site?
There are very few posts that appear to be made to promote Phi Mu on this site. Ranks are one thing, but even those don't always have them as the top house. Almost any time they are mentioned, it's to bash them. They don't even always get defended when it happens.
Before you suggest that I'm a Phi Mu, I am not. But I'm also smart enough to see a post where you've posted, then commented to yourself when no one cared about your original post. Nobody likes Phi Mu in the first post, and PM isn't highly regarded in the second? Nah. That's just lazy writing.
