Ok I was with you for the first half, but AOPi is definitely not some magical place where everyone is genuine and all the other houses are just vapid, superficial mean girls. I’ve met some great AOPi’s, I’ve met some AOPi’s who I couldn’t stand. So, as you said, “just like every other single sorority here”

Yeah I would say theta is the most alternative but more in the fact that they probably have the most girls who are happier doing their own thing and are more independent, but definitely still a very traditional sorority experience in terms of what you get out of it

In terms of Theta, they dedicated their 2016 pomp to suicide prevention because one of their sisters committed suicide, they ended up raising like 20k (and before you claim I'm a Theta, I'm not, their pomp made news headlines nationwide). This most recent school year they dedicated their pomp to their national philanthropy... Which btw ADPi did the same thing in 2016 (and won the competition). Not sure why Theta is called out for it but ADPi isn't. Theta has a house lol. They're in the old Alpha Gam house, is it a great swing house? No, but EVERY house that's rebuilt has had to experience that. And from what my friends in Theta have told me, they actually have a very busy social calendar, they had a bunch of swaps and date parties in the fall.

In terms of AOPi, a lot of people claim they're an alternative sorority experience because of how under the radar they are. They're not super well known for any particular category and it seems that their girls aren't on the forefront of other big campus organizations. They're just a chill, laid-back house and there are PNMs who want something like that and if that's your niche then AOPi would be a good route. However I will say, none of the 16 big NPC sororities are a true alternative experience... ALL of them have swaps, date parties, sisterhood events, big/little, houses, etc. You will experience true sorority life in ALL of these houses. If you're honestly looking for something more off the beaten path then I would suggest SDT, ADX, and possibly even SK.

aopi not a forefront for main campus organizations?

B positives president is an aopi. Aopi has sga reps. Two girls on pan x are aopis. 2016 homecoming queen was an aopi. I did als pals and SO many are aopis. Not to mention, they won best aopi chapter 2 years in a row. They were also top fundraising chapter.

Sick of people talking about Aopi when they know nothing about them! Congrats Aopi on the new house. I hope pnms will realize that you are NOT an alternative sorority experience and that the alpha delta chapter is very well accomplished.

they also have cheerleaders, rowing team girls, swimming, tennis.... come on! theyre just as involved as anyone else. maybe more than others.

Why the theta shade? They have always had a house and just like us they are in the process of rebuilding a huge mansion house. They are in the top of the grade report and they have nice sisters. They are involved all over campus. The no pomping was purposeful and we all agreed it was a great idea considering the circumstances. My freshman roommate is a theta and she loves her house as much as I love mine. AOPi is not alternative either. They are just quiet and under the radar.

SDT offers everything the others do, just on a smaller scale. Plus they're an NPC sorority and a full voting member of Panhellenic. ADX and KBG, on the other hand, aren't NPC or housed.

sdt is still a very different experience than the other main sororities here. wether or not they get to vote, have a house, or have swaps... i can not believe im arguing this

AOII is awesome and is the perfect fit for over a hundred girls each fall. They are very active and a major part of the greek scene at Alabama. What they probably do not have are a bunch of attention seeker types.
