how will yoir ecoerience differ

by: VeryCurious

Reposting as I am curious about this, and the question was buried in a dumb thread.

.....as a PNM, can someone explain why my experience would be notably better in a house like KKG versus pi phi?

They both have similar grades, and from comments here a chill kinda party environment.

But KKG always ranks near the top, versus pi phi somewhere in the middle.

So what would make my experience notably different in one versus the other?

What makes the “top” house experience better or perceived better and the consistent better rank?

Technically you won’t miss out on anything. You still have swaps, date parties, tailgates etc etc

BUT... being OR or top tier has its advantages. You’ll get to mix with better fraternities (therefore have the chance to go to better fraternities date parties), get to go to OR swap, etc etc.

Also I find that lower tier houses tend to have more issues with sisterhood aka more girls drop, transfer, and there is a wider mix of girls in general.

Will you miss out on a ton if you go Pi Phi instead of Kappa. No probably not. BUT if you like them equally go Kappa

also it's kinda based on geography for example if you're an Alabama native you would think kappa is better than pi phi because they take more Alabama girls were as someone OOS/OOR will prefer pi phi because they take girls from all over again it's subjective both are great houses

honestly nothing. both have the same opportunities they just mix with different frats like kappa is more likely to hang around sae and dke while pi phi is more likely to hang around theta chi sigma chi that's pretty much it

and it's not like kappa doesn't hang around theta chi sigma chi or pi phi and dke they can go wherever but typically they have different "go to" frat relationships
