Maybe I should post this as a new thread rather than here, but seriously, as a PNM, can someone explain why my experience would be notably better and I house like KKG versus pi phi?
They both have similar grades, and from comments here a chill kinda party environment.
But KKG always ranks near the top, versus pi phi somewhere in the middle.
So what would make my experience notably different in one versus the other?

Exactly. Recruitment is a live real event with people and personalities. Rankings should and usually do gonout the window and pnms start to k ow what is right for them. The big thing is to follow your heart and not chase the mythical “rank” for some sort of self esteem. It’s all good.

Kkg is just more prestigious. It’s the way it is. May or may not be fair. It’s just baked in, so to speak. That prestige and many legacies etc leads to being more desired in rush which is what most use for rankings. The cat fights are usually mims fighting for a house in straight quality while the actives ack kwledfe what happens for supply and demand at recruitment. There is just more demand for kappa. Does not make it a better product, so to speak.
Kinda like a jag or a Honda. The Honda May be a better car, but most go for a jag if they can afford it...

The OP comment aside, it does seem ranks are based more on reputation/history than notable differences in terms of what life will be like.
Brand recognition and history/reputation among girls who grew up with Bama sororities in the culture.
Makes me less nervous about where I may land as I am from OOR and not so much concerned about being in a house full of a “certain kind of local girl”, as much as having a good experience. \n\n\n\n\n

Right attitude. Just go with the flow and don’t over think. You may love and click with axo or with aphi— be with your people!!!! Ranks are different dumb and so high school.

And, there are allot of ranks.

Your experience will be different in each one because there are different people and because you’ll like one more than the other. If you don’t like one you won’t have a good experience even if it’s top tier. You gotta find the one where you fit in, not the one that’s top tier (unless that’s where you fit in, in which case, go for it)
