by: ?Just curious but does anyone here not want a new sorority to join campus? I'm not trying to be negative but on a different thread about SK most of the comments are welcoming towards SK but whenever I talk about SK to people in real life they all seem to not really want a new sorority to join. The perception is definitely split and this division is interesting

Sigma kappa cane to recruitment last year and talked to the recruitment team (j board/tho chi) and stayed to observe the whole recruitment. Their advisors were so nice, friendly, and committed to making their colonization seamless. They talked to us about what aspects of sororities at Alabama were most important, and seemed to really try to get a good understanding of campus culture.
I’m very excited for them and to see what they will bring!
I understand people not wanting any more sororities, but I think the bigger concern is a sorority that fails to successfully integrate into campus and the Panhellenic community.

What does history have to do with you belonging to a sorority today? What a sorority did 30 years ago has no bearing on what it is like today.
In fact each year a sorority is not the same sorority of the year before because new members come in and old leave.
History is a code word for wanting the benefits of other people's efforts without putting in any work themselves.
