Kappa, KD, Chi O and Tri Delt are all better than those two houses. These four don’t just take one type of girl like AXO and Phi Mu do. With a variety of girls you get a more well-rounded pledge class filled with lots of different personalities and styles (partiers, athletic girls, bookworms, trendy girls, involved, uninvolved, outdoorsy ones, boho, world travelers, you name it). That’s what makes these houses better, is that don’t have such a rigid, specific “type.”
I would say 95% of Phi Mus are obsessed with hair, makeup, clothes, tanning and eyelash extensions and everything related to personal appearance.
95% of Alpha Chis are Type A personalities obsessed with having perfect grades and being overly-involved in every aspect of everything.

Having been around a couple of recruitments now, I actually don't see Alpha Chi and Phi Mu going after the same girls at pref all that often. It definitely happens because both very desired and so they compete for top girls in general, but after sisterhood many pnms with both on their cards go in one direction or another, but rarely keep/get both for pref. All that is to say that most pnms will know exactly what they want to do as to Alpha Chi and Phi Mu because they will either be feeling it at one or the other, but not usually both.
