Rush is not that bad. Yes there are long days and tired feet and disappointments but it’s really not that bad unless you make it bad. It doesn’t matter what house you end up in as long as you figure out it’s the right house for you. You have more than a month from bid day to decide if it’s for you.

Rush is hard mentally because you think the cuts are personal and they aren’t really. I think you should go through with it just for the opportunity to meet new friends and find a house you love, because a lot of houses are very chill and would be perfect for you. Really the only difference between OR and NR (as OOS) are t shirts. People hype up OR mainly because they’re popular houses for in state girls with mothers and friends who were/are in them. And there are tons of out of state girls in OR houses that got in without connections. You really could end up anywhere, what’s most important is that you pick houses you love, not houses that are most popular. Good luck, I really do hope you end up rushing and finding your people!!!!!

In a way I think recruitment is easier for OOS/Oor girls that are showing up without knowing people.
If you are dropped, there isn't much investment - it's after a five or ten minute conversation. And the houses are all so great if you find a fit you'll be fine.
If you are more familiar with girls in the house(s) the cuts can seem more personal.
Best wishes during rush!

Okay I never post on here but I thought I should help you out. I'm from out of state and had no clue how to even say the sorority names or even when I was in a house what house I was in. Sounds bad I know but in the long run really helped me out because I picked a house for me. I'm ended up joining an OR house. Don't for a second think because you are out of state with no connections you can't join an OR house because I did. Keep your mind open with every house NR or OR because everyhting works out

Ok. I think I get it. I just heard OR doesn't take OOS so I didn't want to waste my time or get my hopes up. Thanks for the input. I really did not mean to be offensive. Maybe I should reconsider rush. It is starting to fell cut throat and I'm not used to that. I am from a small town in PA and we are pretty chill. Thanks again though.
