tut vs pres

by: Pnm

It is so much better to be in Tut than Pres. pres is very isolating and so far away from campus
After a few days everyone in Tut is pretty unhappy with their choice
Location is everything and the bus and walk are just way too much three times a day to get to campus and the house

i lived in pres. tbh, i would have loved to live in tut looking back on it. its COLLEGE. and this is your 1 year you can 100% live on campus in a dorm. pres is basically like an apartment... and youll be living in an apartment for maybe the next 5 years... tut seems like an experience and you actually get to make friends will the people around you. in pres, no one talks to each other on the floors. plus the location is prime.

If anyone can switch rooms do it you will thank us later
Seriously pres is not like college at all

I lived in Tut and dropped out after sisterhood round. (My GPA was only 3.0 but I wish I wouldn't of totally dropped out, my card was pretty OK) I was pretty miserable for a few months but I didn't really have a groove until 2nd semester.
I'm going to be living with another sophomore rushing, and 2 girls in houses.
I am so embarrassed I have to try and impress these girls I lived on the same floor with.

I loved living in pres. I loved having my own room and only had to share a bathroom with one person. I had lots of room for all my stuff. Most of my friends lived in pres and the girl I became best friends with lived on my floor. I knew a decent amount of the people on my hall.

I am living in my sorority house this semester so I am getting a kind of tut like experience so I am glad I am getting the best of both worlds.

I recommend pres tho because I don't think it was isolated. It is def a party dorm and if you want to get to know your neighbors you can

I lived in riverside and didn’t regret not living in tut until my junior year. Looking back I should have just done it but I did enjoy riverside.

Biggest drawback to suite style is meeting less people. I didn’t meet a single person on my hall freshman year

I second this. Loved suite style for the personal space and only sharing a bathroom with one roommate, really wished I’d been able to meet more people in my dorm because besides my roommates all my friends were either from my sorority or people I knew from home

I loved Pres, but I'm very outgoing, so I made it a point to meet as many people as possible on my floor. If you tend to be shy, it might not be as fun or easy to meet friends.

I lived in Ridgecrest and it was hard to meet people. I loved my suite mates though.. they all were in houses.

The biggest drawback to pres I see people posting ab here is not meeting people, but I lived in a suite style dorm and I was great friends with the boys across the hall from me and with the ones next to me too. I knew most of my hall and was friendly with all of them. Maybe I just got lucky though

I lived in tut and I loved it. Yes there are some things about it that aren't great but it's an experience you can't forget. I become close with every girl in my hall way and most on my floor and different floors. It was so close to everything which was amazing. If you had class on the quad say at 9 you wouldn't need to leave your room untill like 8:50. My friends in pres had to always leave to places way sooner just to get there on time. Trust me everyone should try living in tut. You have the rest of your 4 years to live in apt style rooms but only 1 year to live in tut.

It’s just so close and so much what college is supposed to be like. The suites are so far away and it felt like a hotel. No boys is a plus too because you can just relax.
They clean the bathrooms and in the suite style after a month most of my friends bathrooms were not so great because they didn’t clean them.
A walkable campus is the best

Lived in Tut and all my friends picked the same wing on the same floor as me so it was fun getting to live with so many girls I was good friends with and could literally go across the street to my house for meals/homecoming stuff and Bruno/BD/strip are really close too. Got jealous of Pres girls a lot because they could really easily make friends with guys on their floor and get date party invites or have more of the guy friends when we went out to band parties. Pros and cons to each

Tut is perfect if you are joining a sorority
Suite style is much better if you are part of the Million Dollar Band (which is awesome)
The boys are dirtier than girls so having them living around you is not fun
Presidential is just so far it’s like commuting to college

Tut is just the best for location and it’s actually fun having a bunch of girls all next to each other.
If you have a great roommate you will be fine. After this year if you don’t live in the house you will always live in an apt with your own room so it’s a freshman thing that everyone should experience once.
When the new tut goes up it will easily be the most popular dorm on campus.
