looks

Let’s start by saying with identical resumes, looks will break the tie! So, there is an advantage no doubt. Debating this is just crazy.
The debate is how much of an advantage.
And I would argue considerable.
For the looks based houses it’s a key component. And even if you don’t really want them, looks will keep you “in play” and recruitment is about maximizing your options. So being attractive keeps more doors open. No house says we don’t take pretty girls...lol
But even at other (non looks focused) houses it’s a benefit. Looks will if nothing else break a tie as I said.
Remember these are quick conversations and the goal is to be remembered in a good way and approved. If your look isn’t overdone for the house, Being attractive will help you be remembered.
And, these are quick conversations and the goal is to be liked and approved. If you aren’t as attractive, you may have more of a barrier to overcome, early in the conversation.
My experience, Good looks is a big advantage for otherwise similar girls
It can’t be “all” you have going on, but even here - if you were to compare the attractive girls “success” in recruitment opposite girls with the same other characteristics (poor grades, OOR, QR) the attractive girls would do much better.
And this has nothing to do with Bama Greek life. True EVERYWHERE. For guys and girls. \n\n\n\n\n

looks can make or break your rush, it sucks and it's shallow but it's the truth. there are girls who have very average resumes yet are wanted by virtually all houses because they're beautiful. while on the other hand there are girls with amazing resumes who get harsh cuts solely because they don't fit the "image."
