Why come to the South and criticize? You don't have to stay here if you don't want to. Accents, food, point of view, our whole culture; it's all part and parcel of who we are. You may be used to something else, and that's fine, but if you want to find the bad things you will surely find them. Embrace the good here, there is so much to enjoy.

I don't know why people love the school but have a problem with the South. UA is only the way it is BECAUSE it's in Alabama. It's been in the making since 1831 right where it is. It wouldn't be the same at all if it were anywhere else so why criticize what you say you love.

All the girls from my area (far oor Midwest) that go here transfer back to our state school after one or two semesters. This is a very southern school if you’re worried about conservative views or people bein country don’t come here. Go to another Greek life state school that would be a better fit for your views and personality

but i have to say the massive oos presence kind of masks the hicks and makes them less obvious in day to day life.
