which is more important?
by: Just want to knowWatching GR over past couple of months I am noticing two different kinds of house types. There are the houses that seem to pursue members that will increase their relationships with men, i.e. fraternities. These houses seem to stress recruiting beautiful women or are looks based. Then there are houses that seem to pursue members that increase their relationshiip with women, i.e. sisterhood. These seem to stress recruiting on other factors besides looks. I know both types of houses have exceptions, but I am talking about overall reputations. Curious which is most important?

APhi is the best example. Anyone who puts them anywhere but dead last, even behind unknown SK is answering this question. They are last in grades, last in sisterhood, last in reputation, towards the bottom in involvement but ranked top or middle of NR. The racism issue just brought things to light but the other things have been there all along AND known all over the row but still they were ranked as highly desirable. Any questions?
I feel badly for the good PNMs who were swayed by false ranks and chose them over great houses that are inexplicably ranked lower.

in MY opinion, the relationships with other women (sisterhood) is most important. you have to look at things long term, especially if you think you want to be an involved alum. would you rather have a few years being in the "hot" house where you're expected to pull guys from certain frats or would you rather have friends of a lifetime being in the house that pushed it's girls to be more than just objects for men.

There's a lot of houses that are well balanced between looks sisterhood and academics like tbh some girls want the satisfaction of being in the "pretty house" with a fun schedule and not too many want to be in the "sisterhood" house like for example theta that doesn't have an amazing social schedule you just find a balance

its really sad that this site is all about women tearing other women down. you never see any fraternities fighting on here about ranks, who’s better than who, etc.. if girls would rather build friendly relationships with guys i don’t see the problem. it’s obviously a LOT less drama in the long run if greek life is as divided as this site makes it out to be.
