sister in a sorority

by: so...

So my sister is in a sorority here at bama and we are polar opposites lol. I feel like I have to join her sorority but I know I won't fit well with the girls. Any advice?

Please do not join ANY house you're not 100% happy about. If you pledge your sister's sorority and you're not completely positive about it you will live in her shadow. Rush is for YOU. This is YOUR time to be who you want to be and do what you want to do.

And this goes to all you legacies too.

I'm gonna be honest, a lot of houses will drop you sole based on the fact that you're an in house legacy. But if you make it clear to the houses that you're interested in that you're not like your sister and are interested in making your own path at UA, a lot of girls will understand!

But, if you do end up in your sister's house know that there are girls of all types in every house! Even if you are nothing like your sister, there will be girls like you in her house too!

tell your sister you want to go into rush with an open mind and that you want to look at your other options too.... she will probably tell her friends she's not as interested in them. When going through rush they'll most likely bring up your sister and just say like "yeah omg we are polar opposites" and they'll probably take the hint.

but just because you and your sis are opposite doesn't mean you cant fit in with her sorority! just give everyone a chance (:

if it makes you feel any better, i know a girl who rushed last year and she ended up in a rn house even though she has a sister who's currently an active in an or house.

Some houses will cut you quickly for having an in house sister at another sorority, unless you drop them after first round and your intent to do so is known. Otherwise, most top houses will not Keep inviting you back unless you are a superstar pnm and they know you really well and are willing to take the risk. I know one top OR house stole some last year that got everyone’s attention.

Your recruitment shouldn't be any different, then if your sister is in here.

There are plenty of examples of top houses that have Actives with sisters in different houses.
