by: harsh but honestFor pref, girls with 3.6+ will have 1-2 houses back, girls with a 3.2 to 3.5 will have 0-1 houses back, and girls with under a 3.2 are going bidless. That is the reality of how competitive rush is going to be. If you are a PNM and you are thinking that your 2.9 and good looks will get you a bid, you are going to be extremely disappointed on bid day. I’m not trying to sound harsh it’s just the truth. Most houses auto drop so it doesn’t even matter if the actives you talk to like you.

zeta is notorious for taking grade risks. mind you, grade risks aren't always necessarily under a 3.0. for most houses, a grade risk is under a 3.3. and most houses, or at least the ones on the upper half of the grade report preferably want to see at least a 3.6

Of course this happens in some houses. Not sure what letters you wear but you are either not in a top house or just trying to keep the worst kept secret on the row.

Being on exec is more important than grades for getting rooms in my house. It is true that the connected girls get on exec more than the unconnected because they have so many more friends in the house. Next high grades get in but to some extent to reward grades and to another extent for accessiblity to tutors.

You rushed before. This year if you went through recruitment you would not get a bid at all.

Uh okay? I went through recruitment last year. The cutoff was a 3.0 I had BELOW the cutoff and went through rush with almost a full schedule. Now the OP is saying anyone under a 3.6 will not be getting a bid AT ALL when the cutoff is a 3.2. My point is that people go through rush under the cutoff all the time and do perfectly fine, the OPs point is that even people above the cutoff will go bidless which is obviously as dramatic as it gets. Let's be real the new cutoff is all talk. The gpas of incoming freshman didn't change drastically within a year and houses aren't going to sacrifice numbers because panhellenic changed their "suggestions", if i went through rush this year I'd still be in BDS on bid day
