curious about delta dd
by: JWOkay so I’m honestly not trying to bash Tri Delt. I know a lot of really cool ones and they got a great PC 17. BUT everyone on here lately keeps saying how receptive they are to OOS. Is this a 2017 thing? I went through recruitment in 2016 and aside from like two Memphis girls only AL girls got Tri Delt in my Rho Chi. They weren’t rude to me when I went through like another house was, but they didn’t try very hard in our conversation either. I was warned by PC 15 girls beforehand that DDD takes mostly AL girls. It seems to me at least that they used to be kind of a backup OR option (no hate they just took more in states and didn’t have as much of a type), then turned it around this year and for awesome OOR girls. Is it just me? Have they been OOS interested for years now?

I think the reason they got so much credit for their PC 17 (and not the ones in recent years) is that this year they did very well with OOS girls.
This seems like the first year they’ve really done this from what I can tell. Unlike houses like AGD and XO, they realized that lots of the best PNMs aren’t just from Alabama/ Mississippi/ Memphis/ etc

They took a huge grade risk from my OOS (but still southern) high school last year. I was baffled

I’m also PC 16 so I don’t know anything about their rep before I got here, but if it’s like OP said and they were in state focused then yea they really got the message and branched out with their ‘16 class and I guess did better with ‘17
