what sororities do you think are underrated?

-DG. I think they've always been overshadowed by ADPi but I know so many cool and genuine girls in DG. They don't stand out in any area but they don't have any weaknesses either.

-Theta. I would have put them in the first place but I'm sure I'd get "self ranking!1!1!!" comments. Smart, involved in all areas of campus, with a strong alum network and a new house on the way. Great for more independent types.

-AOPi. They're kinda invisible right now but I think they have a chance this year to be more competitive than ever before.

-DDD. Weird/controversial pick but I feel like their last PC got a ton of buzz around bid day and it fizzled out. As a chapter they're very well-rounded. Recruiting OOS girls more and more will continue to benefit them.

this question is a catch 22... you can list houses that you think are underrated but then someones going to call you out for self ranking.

but anyways...

i think pi phi, adpi, dg, and theta are underrated houses. i think pi phi and adpi kind of get lost in the middle tier moshpit and i don't think anyone ever really gives them credit... adpi has amazing grades and i can honestly say i never hear anything bad about the house. and pi phi is (in my mind) the nr version of ddd, they have a lot of very social girls but they're also smart and outgoing.

and i think a lot of people tend to just disregard dg and theta simply because of where they currently are in ranks. but i think both houses are really committed to grades and involvement. and from what i hear they have strong sisterhoods.

in my opinion adpi is OVERrated.

Phi mu and alpha chi

The houses I don’t think get enough credit/ are underrated:
DDD- they are not an unpopular house, but I think people on here seem very reluctant to acknowledge that they are positioning themselves to be very successful with OOS girls when a lot of OR houses just don’t seem to get that quality OOS girls are becoming more and more important.
GPhi- I think anyone PC 15 and younger (and especially PC 16 and 17) might not give them as much credit because they don’t understand how bad GPhi was until very recently (I am a washed up PC 14 gal on this site, not sorry bout it). PC 14 and before, GPhi was not a bottom house like DZ or Theta are now, they were THE bottom house. From an outside perspective, they’ve changed pretty radically in the last 4 years and I don’t think they always get the credit they deserve
Theta- not sure Theta is the most underrated because lots of people on here have positive things to say, but they are definitely underrated during recruitment and I hope they will improve their rush so more PNMs are interested, because I think they might have the most going for them out of all the lower tier houses

Just throwing my two cents out there because multiple people mentioned them, but in my opinion DG is OVERrated or at best appropriately rated. They are fine and don’t have any serious flaws, but to me they’re a lower mid house unless they put on a killer rush this year (which I don’t predict based on rush the last two years). They don’t do a bad job during rush, but they’ve been very stagnant and pretty under the radar, and I think AOPi and DZ having new houses will hurt them.
I think my issue with DG is that I don’t really know what kind of girl is a DG girl and who they are trying to recruit, I feel like they have an unfocused goal of just trying to be ADPi when they should try to have their own place on campus and improve from there.

First of all, underrated on this site does not mean underrated on campus. This site has a definite viewpoint. I read GR before I came, then was really surprised when I got to campus that things are not nearly as cut and dried as the frequent posters here would have you believe.

I do think that the houses without a reputation for having a strong "type" don't do as well in the GR lists. But in my opinion, they are the strongest houses because they all have plenty of girls from all the types -- smart, pretty, involved, partiers, etc. and in these more well rounded houses, you'll find plenty of each type. Of course, there are actually plenty of each type in every house, but if you are the partier in AXO or the super studious student in KKG, you might not feel quite as appreciated as you would in another house that either has less of a "type" or that has more girls that are like you.
