Old Row houses are always near the top because they are some of the hardest houses to get a bid from. Whether you want to believe it or not OR houses are the ones that girls put first and OR has to make the largest cuts. Pi Phi is no way should be above KD because KD is a hard house to get a bid from.
I just hate when I see posts bashing OR houses. I know everyone on this website will probably down vote this but the OR houses are often times the most desirable for 75% of PNMs ( yes not 100%, but usually the majority)

If we did not have the old row label, the houses who are old row would still be in that same spot. Stop saying pi phi should be ranked higher because in my opinion if anyone should be ranked higher it's zeta MAYBE being put above alpha gam (if their grades improve) but they're both exclusive to specific "types" in their own bizarre ways

KD and kappa are the same about bidding their friends and filling the rest of their PC with random girls but kappa is just more discreet about it.
Kappa is nicer to the girls going through so they don’t feel as much like fillers. On pref night all the actives stay almost all night and vote individually on each “filler”/random girl to make sure they at least look cute or look like they would fit in with kappa.

Kappa definitely has its top girls who are all friends from private school (caugh... MST and her apostles) but their fillers are quality.

not gonna comment on kappa’s filler “quality” but they have a big divide between their OOS girls (not including their TX, Louisiana, and NC girls) and their “popular group”. Same thing as kd but no one brings it up. I have a few kappa friends from the northeast and it just makes me sad to hear how unwelcome they feel.
This is a problem that every house faces though, just in different ways.
Also, don’t call girls out by name even if it’s just initial. That’s so creepy

this is so stupid. anyone who's justifying old row houses taking undeserving friends over qualified OOS girls is honestly ignorant. like just straight out ignorant. go ahead and dislike my comment and keep arguing but it does nothing. old row status means nothing anymore. the houses that are taking their friends are the houses that are struggling, and we all know who's who.

^ yeah those are houses that pull strings for their friends, but you can't say their friends are undeserving. They obviously have good grades since all those houses are top in grades. Also the girls in those houses are extremely involved. Life's about who you know. It's also important to note that there are plenty of out of state girls in all of these houses that were extremely deserving of there spot and love & thrive in their house

The issue with zta is they go for cute “just for fun” type, then after three semesters (two football seasons) too many girls no longer view the sorority as something they need — so they drop to save money. This happens too often for them but they have a hard time getting cute pledge classes (and hence keeping their “hot” rep) without continuing taking fliers on pnms. It is a vicious cycle. Same with some other houses.
The key to retention is to recruit more for personality and to really push member support and sisterhood stuff so the older girls get continuing value. They also need to improve local alum support.
