rushing twice
by: Rushing twice
I rushed last year and it was something I decided to do really last minute. I wasn't happy with the houses I had towards the 3rd round. I was trying to keep an open mind so i stayed until i got a bid. Unfortunately I didn't really feel like I was at home with that house so I dropped before I was initiated. I know I am eligible to rush again my sophomore year and is something I want to do. I just want to know if it shows up that I had previously got a bid the year before to all the chapters when i rush again? I know that might look bad that I previously rushed .I really want to be in a sorority so any advice in rushing my second time.
Should I do COB instead of formal rush, or just not rush at all?? Also will sororities care that I was in a bottom house and dropped before initiation?

I always tell girls to give it a shot! But I want you to be prepared. It would be useful if i had more information like did you get a high gpa your first year of college? do you have close friends in the houses? do you have a clean rep amongst those girls? Do you have recs? Also I've heard that if a house drops you once, they'll probably drop you again. There's a reason why you were dropped from the houses you were dropped from and unless you've improved significantly in those areas, you will be dropped again. Also I would definitely encourage you to rush instead of cobing. From what it sounds like you pledged a bottom tier house and didnt like it. Most houses that COB are bottom tier. Also by the time you get an opportunity to cob you'll be a second semester sophomore and that's not something sororities will really take.
