what’s up with all the kd h8
by: what’s upI feel like I’m correct in thinking that KD KKG XO and DDD are all like pretty similar. So what’s with people making ranking and constantly saying “move KD down” from that group? Are they on a decline? I actually go here if you’re wondering and I think they’re pretty strong. Is there something I’m not seeing?

KD’s grades slipped this semester but they are usually in the top 7 for grades. They have more involvement than kappa but are still far below every other OR house.
They will make significant drops in “rank” if they don’t improve their rush tactics and get a well rounded pledge class for PC 18.

Kd, kappa and chi o all have a similar problem of having one big “popular” group that tends to be less welcoming to the rest of the PC. Doesn’t have to do with in state or out of state, but all these girls tend to have known each other before even pledging.
There are definitely girls in all of these houses who feel left out of these groups, but this is like 20 girls out of a 150 pledge class. There are multiple other friend groups in every pledge class and these girls are just as smart, involved, etc as the popular group.

In my eyes KD has struggled in recruitment for years. When other OR houses were recruiting top OOS PNMs KD was recruiting mediocre in-state girls. While they recently realized the importance of out of state girls, they struggle to get top PNMs. Why? Because a top oos PNM will typically prefer to go another old row house where they feel a greater sense of belonging. Also KD stop trying years ago. Their social media is horrible, they don’t care about their philanthropy, and they don’t participate well in Greek events. To top that off of you’re not in the “in” crowd you might be pushed aside. Their sisterhood is horrible.......

To me, KD seems more cold/stand-offish at first but the girls I know there are actually pretty nice and chill. Out of the DDD/XO/Kappa/KD group that I see a lot of, I think KDs are the nicest in my experience, though they do lack more quality OOR girls. Not to say that they struggle with OOR, but they have less consistency between their "in" crowd and their "out" crowd.
For me, DDD has also been nice and chill, Kappa is sometimes 50/50 depending on if the girl is a nice party girl or a mean loud drunk. I thought I'd like XO more but they were like AGD to me. Those two were the most stand-offish and felt weird to me during rush. Even now after a year I don't think they're very fun or friendly to outsiders.

All that snapping back and forth among XO/KD/KKG/DDD would be part of their cross rushing for the MB/Gump/Mobile pnms that are like the local debs and such. At least KD/KKG/DDD have long focused on that legacy and tradition crowd, but lately that has been a mixed bag. XO somehow has tried to get into the "in-state" mix along with AGD. AGD just is not good at it and went too far on having judgy girls.
IMO DDD and KKG have broken away from XO and KD because they have done a good job finding fun OOS pnms and brining them in. To me, because of their top quality OOS pull, KKG and DDD have become more like Phi Mu (but with more in-state legacy and definitely more MB/Gump/Mobile) than they are like KD or XO.

Tri Delt and alpha gam moved off magnolia years ago. I guess I just view it differently but I’ve never taken it as a hit at another sorority. Always thought it was more about them being the first sorority on campus
