sorority recruitment!

by: :)

Hey babes! I am going to be attending bama next year & I am super interested in rushing. I am also super nervous about it as well.. I have heard so many rumors (???) about how cut-throat rush is & what they look for and whatnot. I am from California but originally south Alabama as of 5 years ago. My old neighbor was telling me all about how her daughter was a KKG but only because she went to a particular private school in Mobile, and she also mentioned how as an OOS I will be at a complete disadvantage since the majority of girls receiving bids from top houses are girls from around Alabama (girls who have been a shoe-in since freshman year of highschool). I've met with a few girls currently in sororities at UA but i am not sure how much of a help that will be for me. Any advice for me would be SUPER helpful!! Thanks bunches!!

Ignore her- she is an old mcgill toolen catholic mom and times have completely changed. With UA being primarily OOS kids, there's room for almost everyone during rush. Sure, being from OOS might mean you won't be in house XYZ because they have all girls from a certain region, but you will fit in better elsewhere anyway.

Ignore it, in fact in my opinion it's a lot easier for OOS girls to receive bids from top tier houses than a girl who's from alabama but wasn't in the right crowd or has an iffy reputation

It is absolutely a fact that oos has easier time getting old row than in state girls who are not well connected and popular.
