It’s all about connections brother. Tbh, you’re kinda late in the game to go on University. Most of OR houses gave out the bids around 1st bama bound, but sometimes we spare a couple.

No no no. We don’t respond to emails. Just text them and talk to them. And the most important thing about rushing is be yourself and talk to people at the parties if you’re invited. Don’t focus on getting girls, at least not yet.

Just reading this thread. You can forget about being Old Row. Nothing personal. But being from Chicago and not knowing anyone will already work against you. Go through Rush. Maybe focus on some good New Row houses on Jefferson. LXA, KE, DX all have guys from the north. Beta does as well. You'll find that many OR fraternity members are very awkward. That's how it is at Alabama.

jefferson houses aren't that bad. if you really care about status then try hard for a house on jefferson. but if you just want friends and parties then jefferson does all that plus more. i'd say the "easiest" to get a bid from on univ blvd is probably phi psi and beta... pi kap and theta chi too if you're their type. and pike if you're good looking and wild. besides that, all other univ blvd houses rely heavily on connections.

this is how i would rank the jefferson houses:
lxa, dx, ks: fun guys who like to party, mostly oos guys, almost like a lesser version of pike
akl, zbt, phi sig: very average houses, lots of guys who like to party, not really known for anything in particular
chi phi, sig pi, dtd: least popular houses, easy to get a bid

in a sorority girl's honest opinion, pledge a house that you genuinely like. don't worry about tiers because honestly if you don't like the guys then you're not going to have an enjoyable greek experience. every house has their groupies!!! seriously it's crazy but literally every frat has girls who go to every party, know all the guys, and genuinely like being at the house. also, you're not closed off to just your frat... i know you mentioned wanting to meet girls but you can literally go out to the bars any night of the week and meet other people on top of meeting people in class and other clubs.

there should be groupmes for guys who are rushing, or at least there should be. go into the Facebook groups for the class of 2022 and search for rush groupmes and if there aren't any you could always make one, that way you can talk to other guys and compare where y'all are in the process.
