houses that surprised you (in a good way)

What houses did you expect not to like/ didn’t initially like but during rush or on campus something changed your mind?
For me, I had always heard that Phi Mu was totally stuck up but I met some phi mu girls in class/ organizations I’m involved in who are THE nicest, most down to earth girls. I also didn’t like Tri delt during rush because the girls I talked to during IWT were lowkey rude and clearly not interested, but the ones I’ve met on campus have been a ton of fun and really friendly

the only houses that really surprised me post rush were ddd and theta. the ddd's I've gotten to know are really nice and a lot of people said they were sort of elitist since they're or but idk I've never met a ddd who was like that. and the theta's I've met are all really sincere people. also I've met a lot of them who are really smart.

According to a lot of people here, DZ is full of weird try hard girls, and I've never met one that I thought was that way. They've all been super nice, fun to hang around with, and contrary to all the "They settled for what they could get" troll talk on here, they seem to love their sorority.

I was also surprised by them. I talked to some really great girls. Only reason why I cut them was because I liked other houses a little more.
Tri delt also surprised me. I thought I was going to walk in and be ignored because I'm oos. The girls I talked to there I had the best convos during rush. Also really loved their sisterhood round.
Also aphi the first 2 rounds I had great girls that didn't meet what aphi was meant out to be. Then sisterhood round I got a girl that told me I was pretty enough to be in the house LOL
All and all it's really about who you talk to

Looking back, I wish I hadn't read so much BS on this site before going to rush. I initially tried to drop aoii just because I thought greek rank was accurate (dumb, I know) but after going to several rounds with them they all seemed like such sweet girls. I even cried there on pref.
I had similar experiences with Theta and DG.

XO and Theta. Every XO I have met or worked with around campus has been super sweet, helpful and fun. This is completely opposite of what I thought during rush when I thought they were cold and stuck up.
I did not think highly of thetas. tent talk? ranks here? vibe during rush? not sure exactly where it came from since there is no one thing. As an upperclassman I now have some awesome theta friends and have worked with some in my other organization. Just great, kind, and smart women.
tbh I can't think of too many houses where I haven't been impressed by individual sisters in classes, clubs, activities, and around campus. This is especially true of the PC16 and PC17. In the things I am active in I see so many quality girls no matter the letters.

I am another who wishes I had not believed GR ranks about Theta. I had a great experience during recruitment there, but I believed what others said and was worried about what made them a bottom ranked house. Now, I have a couple of close Theta friends who are so fun, that I think of their house in a completely different way.
