No, swaps are just for the specific sorority and fraternity. You can bring gdi’s to your date parties though

Swaps: Themed parties between one sorority and one fraternity on Thursday nights hosted at the fraternity's house. One members of the sorority and fraternity are allowed to go.

Date parties: Themed parties hosted by either one sorority or one fraternity at a venue. Only members of the sorority/fraternity and their guests are allowed to go. Almost all date parties limit their members to one guest each.

Other weekend parties/darties hosted by fraternities are open to anyone.

"Other weekend parties/darties hosted by fraternities are open to anyone." True if you're a girl but guys have to have a connection to someone in the fraternity. "Who are you and who do you know here?" and they will go check with the brother to make sure.

What times are swaps tho because I would like to party with my gdi friend on some thursdays

Where exactly would you even go? All the fraternities are busy with swaps and (if you’re a girl) new members are not allowed to go to bars until initiation.
I have some close friends who are gdi’s but freshman year Thursdays were my nights to hang out with exclusively my house and get to know more people. You can go out on Friday and Saturday with friends in your house and/ or your gdi friends so I wouldn’t recommend blowing off one of the best opportunities to make lots of new friends in your house.

What does that even mean, "I would like to party with my gdi friend on some thursdays"

Lol like what?? Why are you only restricted to thursdays? But swaps start around 10pm, give or take an hour. And they usually end around midnight, give or take. Girls start getting ready for them that evening though, so many girls will go to their house to eat dinner and then go home and start getting around. Dinner ends at 6pm btw. And then there's usually a pregame starting around 9/10pm.

Low key yeah you can bring gdis to swaps. You're not supposed to bring anybody but I went to different sorority's swaps and girls in other houses/GDIs showed up at mine. It's not technically allowed but especially after the first couple weeks nobody is paying attention/nobody cares. Be careful tho cause I think if something happens houses are held liable

Can I bring my gdi friend to the sorority dinners on thursdays? I just want to hang out with my friend and her to meet my other friends. Also since it doesn’t start till 10 and classes usually aren’t all day, what do sororitys do all day? Do ppl go shopping? Or just study

Bruh wtf. Why are you obsessed with Thursdays?

In terms of meals, in MY house, we can only bring guests to lunch and even then we're only limited to 1 guest the entire week... So 1 guest 1 day of the week. If my house catches you bringing more people more often than you should then technically you can get fined. Also, sororities host fraternities for dinners sporadically throughout the fall semester. In my house, swaps are Thursday nights and we would host the fraternity we're going to swap with that week on that Tuesday.

And "strats" do everything any other student does during the day when they're not in class... Eat, sleep, exercise, study, hang out with friends, etc.

At this point I’m assuming you’re a troll. But if not please do not rush so you can spare any house from having to deal with someone as needy and dumb as you are lmao

Whether the OP is a troll or not, this is something worth mentioning to all PNMs:

DO NOT bring girls who are not in your sorority to swaps. It's not fair and it's a HUGE liability for both the sorority and fraternity. Not only is your friend not paying for said events but if ANYTHING happens to her then it becomes a massive liability... And the thing is, nothing major has to happen to you friend. For example, if your friend sneaks in, drinks too much, and passes out or has to have her stomach pumped and her parents find out they can sue the sorority and fraternity if they wanted to and honestly they'd probably win.

I thought sororitys can go out to dinner whenever or with whoever. I didn’t know it’s mandatory dinner

No one is required to eat meals at the house but most girls do, especially freshmen since they live on campus. The only thing sorority girls are really required to do is complete study hours and complete philanthropy hours.

No. They do not pay dues. They do not get to be freeloaders.

If this is the same person who created another thread asking if she can bring her gdi friend to study hours I just want to give you a piece of advice. You're joining a sorority, not for the label, but for the sisterhood. If your gdi friend is not in a sorority do NOT constantly bring her around. Yes it's okay to have gdi friends and go to the bars, band parties, and tailgates with them but you need to do your own thing with the organization that you're paying almost 8k a year for. It's your college experience not your friends. She's grown she can handle herself and figure out her own way
