I went to DZ for philanthropy day and they were talking about how they work with people who are hard of hearing and deaf. I got mixed up and started talked about how I had volunteered for an organization that works with blind people (thinking that working with the blind was their philanthropy).
Not a huge deal, but it was really embarrassing at the time and I felt so bad about it.

For any washed up PC 14 girls on here, DZ’s philanthropy round was my personal awkward rush experience. They played a video that was basically just a rush video with girls jumping into a lake and after the video ended I had to ask “so.... what is your philanthropy..?”
(I’ve heard from youngers girls that their philanthropy round was nothing like that so luckily I think they figured out that this was not the best strategy)

You may not know this, since you haven't been through rush on the other side, but would that actually hurt her? I mean, I would think that whatever house it was would giggle about it (and tease the hell out of her if she became their sister), but right after lunch, it seems like an honest mistake.
On the other hand, if it were me, I'd probably die internally the rest of the week.

I don’t know if she ended going back to the house, but I feel like unless the girls in the house had no sense of humor it would actually be a totally relatable and funny thing to start off conversation (but I would have died inside at the time if it was me)

i went to dg for pref and for pref round they announce your name before you step through the doors.... the order must have gotten messed up because when it was my turn they said someone else's name....
needless to say i just went with it... later in the pref ceremony their anchor ice sculpture melted and split in two. I thought it was funny and it made me like the house more because the actives just laughed it off.

Moral of the story for any PNMs and actives: if something embarrassing happens (and it’s not totally tmi) if you laugh it off and have a good attitude, it’s actually usually a good moment to make yourself and whoever you’re talking with more comfortable and have a funny anecdote to tell
My rho chi made all of us walk from the row to lakeside for lunch because the buses were messed up and all of us looked terrible because it was raining, but it actually gave me a funny story to talk about in my parties after lunch that was a break from having the same conversation over and over

I was at DG during IWT and the girl I was talking to introduced her floater as her “sister”. I legit thought it was her sister and spent a couple minutes talking about how cool it was to share a sisterhood with your actual sister. Turns out they just meant sorority sister.

The letter O in AOPI fell after they finished their door song
A girl in my rho chi group was at Phi Mu and bumped into the taller of drinks and spilled every single one. She was dropped.
Since the topic of philantrophy is brought up, the actives at Theta didn't know their own philanthropy. It didn't just happen to me and I know several girls where they "forgot".
