My personal favorites are
KD (love the color of the brick and just really think it’s a beautiful house), GPhi (that front staircase is killer), and AXO (was my favorite looking house from the first time I visited Alabama)
I also love DDDs side yard a lot even though the architecture of the house isn’t my favorite

I understand what you're saying, I think the actual house looks better than the poster thats been up all year tho. The darker brick & light tile looks much better than the light pink brick it said it would be

Not sure if many PNMs or maybe even recent actives know this, but all the new houses on the row are more or less modeled on what the old house looks like. Its part of tradition! If you saw the swing house that AOII was in last year (and I think theta right now??) it looks like a smaller, older version of Alpha Gam (Because it was alpha gams first house!). The houses you think look boring (alpha gam, aopi, dz, etc.) are actually blown up, beautiful versions of what their houses used to be. They just revamped them to accommodate more girls + changing tastes. Keep that in mind when you think a house looks boring. The alumni want to come back and recognize the place!

Gphi didn’t care to model their’s after their old house, it was really small and plain and wouldn’t have looked good blown up. Also like two other sororities lived there before them and it wasn’t even their original house so they just started fresh.
Can’t speak to adpi, but they were one of the first to rebuild so they probably just did what they wanted

I will be really interested to see the interiors of aopi and dz. The first two waves of houses to be finished (dg, adpi, tri delt, alpha gam, chi o, gphi, alpha phi, axo, all done by 2015) are gorgeous obviously, but more toned down. The next wave (kd, phi mu, kappa, pi phi) learned a lot from the houses before them and they all have extravagant furniture, decorations, etc. They make my house (in the first set) look kind of shabby in comparison. I’m curious if aopi and dz will be super over the top too or if they will be more like the older houses.
Theta could go either way. They may give them the SMU treatment which I think is likely. That house is unreal.

i thought i was the only one who felt like the older new houses were a lot more toned down, especially alpha chi. no hate, it was just surprising to see such a big house be so bare in terms of decorations and overall theme.

Honestly I do sometimes almost like the houses that aren’t decorated as insanely fancy. I agree they don’t look as nice, but I have friends in lots of other houses and I feel like when I go inside the houses that are really extravagantly decorated I feel like I’m not supposed to touch anything. Some of the houses (GPhi comes to mind) aren’t as beautifully decorated but personally I also feel like it feels more comfortable instead of a magazine shoot.
This definitely might just be me though

The only thing I don’t like about the zeta house is that them and phi Mu are so close that they legit share a wall. I actually laughed when I realized that it was one wall with a different color of brick on either side to match the houses.
(I’ve never been inside Zeta’s new house so I can’t speak to the blue color)

I'm not connecting any of this to the quality of the girls inside. Im from far OOS and its just something I'm not used to. The sororities in the school most ppl from my high school go to are run out of the first floor of the dorms. It's just a topic of conversation-- no harm!!
