you find your name on the signs that actives are holding. once you find your name you'll take pictures with the active and anyone else you want to. new girls finding their names and taking pics usually lasts about 30 minutes. then new girls get together in front of the house to take pc pictures. then actives get in and take full house pictures. that usually lasts about 20-30 minutes too. then new girls go back to the active who was holding their sign and people begin entering the house. there's food and water. everyone will eat which lasts about an hour. while everyones eating, someone in the house will probably get up to talk about how happy they are for you to be there and whats going to happen for the rest of the day. then parents are told to leave so if your family is there you say goodbye and that's probably going to be the last time you see them that day/the weekend... so if they're leaving that day make sure you understand that you're officially going to be on your own. then people start cleaning up and getting ready to leave. the new girls start getting sectioned off by which dorm they live in. actives will take groups of girls to the dorms for them to pack for the weekend. some houses provide a list of what to bring, some dont. pack light and pack comfortably. most houses' retreats are at hotels and you'll probably spend one of the days at the pool. actives will give you about 30 minutes to pack, again you don't need to pack a lot. then you walk back to the house and wait there until it's ready to leave.

I'm an active in a different house and I'm just wondering does this really happen because it doesn't seem to in my house, or if it does the girls just hide it really well. And on bid day for my house, it seems as if there's just literally no extra time between when they new girls run home and then leave for retreat.

yep its true, after we took pictures and packed up, we went to an apartment and had some champagne. then we all climbed into the buses tipsy or drunk lol. of course it was not forced on us, we all wanted to drink and those who didnt, didnt have to.

I suggest you pre-pack/ set aside what you want to take at least the night before. Swimsuit, underwear, norts and t shirt to sleep in, flip flops or socks. Sometimes you might go someplace where you will be sleeping on a floor ( like the aquarium or if you don’t like sharing a double bed) so some girls strip off their comforter and pillow. If you can start getting a toiletry bag together, do it. My year, I forgot a toothbrush ( luckily the hotel had one of those spares)and extra bra. One girl forgot deodorant. So pre-packing is a good idea when you are rushing to get to your buses.
