Do you go to school here??? No way is pi phi that high on the same level as ddd. DDD got one of the best pledge classes this year, far more superior than pi phis mix of strange girls. Also since when is pi phi above zta kd and alpha gam??? pi phi has the worst case of self ranking i've ever seen

I agree with both posts but I do have to say pi phi is way too high up on this. Ranks are mostly determined by exclusivity and it's just way harder for a bid to be received by Old Row houses. Getting a bid at houses like zeta and pi phi are walks in the park for most pnms who want to be there (compared to other houses) . Yes, tri delt and pi phi are very similar but not on the same level because I feel like the girls who slipped through the cracks at tri delt ended up going pi phi, therefore move pi phi down a level and KD up. Yes KD is mixed but their filler girls are of higher quality than pi phis filler girls. You're only as strong as your weakest link in this case.

ranks are not defined by exclusivity. reputation, grades, involvement, etc matter a lot. and even if exclusivity did matter in ranks, it would reflect everything i just listed. a house being "exclusive" by only letting their high school friends join is not the same as a house that's exclusive by requiring certain grades, character, reputation, appearance, etc of a girl.

@um no how do you think houses become exclusive??? by eliminating girls based off of the characteristics you listed. it's not just by high school cliques.

move Tri delt and kd up to lower top.
I don’t think that tradition even plays a role in these houses being higher up.. both get high grades (both in top 6) and both are well represented socially (desired swap schedules, invited to date parties/formals, etc), and have involvement on campus. I think that Tri delt has been stronger than kd in past years but both are competitive houses in rush and are comparable to chi o and kappa.

derby days isn’t any sort of measure of how good a sorority is lol but if you’re gonna bring it up, you should probably mention that kappa doesn’t participate either ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Did you not read the entire comment? It's not necessarily whether or not a house participates in Derby Days specifically... It's what the house does in terms of community involvement.

On what basis would you put XO so high? They are a good house but have not had a great rush in a while. I would put KKG and DDD on same level (these two houses are a lot alike to me) -- in my opinion, they are definitely on par with AXO and PM and higher than XO. I personally think that KD is also an overall stronger house than XO because KD gets stronger in state girls. Then AGD, XO, PBP and ZTA. I also like ADPi and think they are very strong house.

Why do you try to create so many tiers and tiers within tiers? With so many PNMs, Bama rush is too big for just two top sororities. And PM and AXO are both too niche to be all things to all the girls who come through. There are a lot of PNMs who don't end up thinking either of those two are top. I think three or four "tiers" is about as finely cut as you can get at our school.

Lol I'm not a Pi Phi... I just feel like AGD and KD don't hold their own. Besides tradition the two aren't that special and both are known for having very split sisterhoods. And I feel that Pi Phi and DDD are pretty similar in the sense that they both have decent grades, a clean reputation, and are very social... If I'm being completely honest I feel like the only thing that really distinguishes DDD and PBP from each other is that DDD is more Southern while PBP isn't. And if you think PBP has mixed pledge classes, what about AGD and KD? Those two houses rely heavily on pledging girls from their hometowns to fill half their pledge class and then use random filler girls for the rest of the class. And in terms of ZTA, PBP has better grades and a better reputation.
Idk this is just my opinion. But I'm tired of seeing the same ranks where the "upper half" is solely Old Row just because that's how it's been for decades. Newsflash: OR isn't what it used to be.
