Phi Mu was also ranked a little lower last year. Still a top, but not the very top like it’s considered now.

TRue that PM’s PC17 was nothing but star girls. They just flat out won rush. Have to give them props and bet it will not repeat. I am looking for KKG to win rush this year.

Zeta isn't a top house for many other good reasons as well beyond the fact that they take COBs. Personally, I don't think that taking COBs is a huge determining factor of the "status" of a house. However, Zeta lacks in grades, involvement/accomplishments, and heavy interest from PNMs. They also have a very split sisterhood and an iffy reputation. On top of that, they rely heavily on dirty rushing.

Compared to other houses I feel like Zeta falls short in terms of involvement outside of their own house and accomplishments. Personally, I never see Zetas (and a few other houses) holding positions in other organizations and/or clubs. But I guess that's just me, some people may see things differently.

I am NOT a ZTA - HONESTLY!!!!
But I had one roomate who was, and she thought she was in a “top” house.
It annoyed me.....BUT, this summer she is visiting friends in beautiful houses in San Diego,the Hamptons and Naples (FL). Flying there for long weekends.
Has a great internship in her home town - Dads connections got her in.
And, she spent the year having a great time - both with her sisters and socially on campus.
Gotta say - a bit of “envy”. Bothers me to no end but just sayin’.

What about all the other houses? It's crazy how there are MANY girls in houses that are known for having involved and smart girls who get internships based on their hard work, not daddy's connections... Yet when actives get on here and try to defend themselves and their hard working houses they're met with hate. I'm all for a house being the underdog but what about the houses (especially the lower ranked houses) that are consistently putting in hard work but are told to "learn their place" when they want acknowledgement for it. Hypocrisy.

Agreed. I remember for a while last year a lot of Zetas liked to claim that Phi Mu was their biggest competition but personally I just don't see it. Phi Mu and Zeta go after different types of girls... Yes, both houses are known for looks but Phi Mu also wants their girls to be smart and outgoing and they're typically not going to settle for just a pretty face whereas Zeta tends to get the girls who only have their looks that fell through from other houses, specifically Phi Mu and Pi Phi.
This isn't intended to be rude, but it's not fair to pretend like certain houses compete with others when they really don't. Zeta tends to cross rush heavily with Alpha Phi and Pi Phi. Phi Mu tends to cross rush heavily with Alpha Chi and Kappa.

Old Row recruits on In state and regional connections and Southern charms. And claim they are superiority as a result.
Think it’s true that new row, with a broader geographical pull create friendships from around the country. But this does not put them on top.
You can’t have it both ways.
Yes, old row gets out of the ZIP Code. But there’s no doubt their travels are more limited - it how they define themselves and their “superiority”.

Don’t be so obtuse? HAHAHAHA wow. I’m in OR and my sisters have been all over Europe this summer, around the country, etc. So, no Zeta cannot claim the W as world travelers when girls in every house are traveling this summer. That’s not something that’s unique to one house. Yes people in the south tend to travel less, but most at least go to a different state or zip code for the summer. Not to mention there’s lots of wealthy girls in every house, so plenty have the money to, and are, abroad.

But when someone points out NR has benefits because there are more friends and connection in more places - NY, Chicago, California, Colorado - its "we do that too".
Its either one or the other.
