i get bullied and i am going to ua’22
by: SadI don’t get it. Everyone in my high school hates me. I’m from ct and I’m a pretty girl and I’m normal. Everyone outside of school I meet thinks I’m lying when I say I have no friends. The guys are so mean and I’ve never been invited to one party. I want to rush but I feel like I’ll just get into the lowest sorority bc I have no friends. A guy that’s mean to me is also going to ua so I’m worried if he rushes he will get the other frat boys to hate me. HELPP😭

Stop. You know nothing about the Greek system here at UA and you're scared that you're going to "get into the lowest sorority?" Are you kidding me? Why does it matter so much what house you get? Especially if said house provides you with genuine friends? Every house here is good and truth be told ranks don't matter. Maybe the reason you have no friends is because you're so judgmental.

Everyone as in the other incoming freshman who also have no idea what Bama Greek life is really about? Or everyone as in the minute fraction of sad and bitter people on this site who can make any claim about any Greek organization they want?
Get off your high horse. Every sorority offers the same exact things, friends, experiences, and memories and isn't that what you want? Isn't that what a sorority provides? Ranks and tiers are only a thing on this website. I know it's hard to understand that because this site does a good job at making people feel like if they don't have XYZ house then Greek life isn't even worth it... But this site is such a facade, making PNMs believe in intangible tiers.
My genuine advice to you and all other PNMs reading this: This isn't the movies. Groups of girls in "top" houses don't control everything. Boys in "top" frats aren't going to turn you away if your sorority isn't "top tier." Sororities don't plot to take each other down. This school is huge and no one is bound by expectations and social status like you were in high school, you can literally do anything you want. Rush because you want a sense of community. And join a sorority because you honestly feel connected to the girls. If you join a house solely on "status" then you're going to feel very unfulfilled.
