on the rise?
by: ?I've recently been seeing ranks that place GPhi and DG surprisingly high. No hate, but does anyone genuinely think that they've moved up to around the middle/low middle tier? I feel like for the longest time people just accepted that these two houses were bottom. I'm not hating on the bottom tier whatsoever either. But, especially from last year, I feel like people are oddly placing them higher than what I thought was the general consensus. Is it self ranking? Or do any of you agree that they're middle tier now?

GPhi got a stellar pledge class this year. This year's rush could solidify their place in middle tier. DG is notorious for self ranking but they rose off the lower tier a few years ago. However they've been slipping recently and in my opinion are in danger of slipping back into lower tier.

To be blunt, ranks rarely change within a year. Maybe a slight shift up or down, but always within whatever tier they began in.
That being said, Gamma Phi is still in the bottom tier as is Delta Gamma. Gamma Phi has been slowly improving over the past few years but they're still not a highly desired house among PNMs. Gamma Phi also has very poor grades and is also generally known for having a very divided sisterhood. And Delta Gamma has also been slowly improving over the past few years, but again, they're still not the most desired house among PNMs. Both of these houses also have very irregular pledge classes which hurts them.
Both of these houses are great in their own ways. But in the grand scheme of things, neither house has done anything significant to solidify a place in the middle tier.
