transferring from out of state university
by: TransferI'm a member of the one of the fraternites that's on the old row here at Alabama. Am I going to have to rush again? I'm already a pledged and initiated brother of another chapter of this fraternity, but it seems like the old row houses are very elitist from what I'm reading. Feel like I wouldn't be immediately welcome as a transfer.

You will not rush again. You should find the contact information of either the president or rush chair (it should be online) and let them know a little about yourself as well as the fact that you're interested in being an active member at their chapter here. They will probably have you come to a few events (usually rush events or parties) and have you talk to some of the guys. So it's basically like rush except you're already initiated. If you're cool and easy going they'll probably renew your membership here.
And yes, Old row houses are VERY elitist. A lot of the guys are from towns in Alabama and so a lot of them have already been friends for years before coming to the school. If you're not their "type" you'll definitely feel out of place.
