legacy...
by: pnmI'm a legacy (mom went here) for a lower tier new row house that I don't really like... I'm from Alabama and I know a lot of girls in old row houses, and they have been commenting on my instagram pictures and all that... so whats my likelihood ill end up being in the house i'm a legacy for???

Make sure that you let EVERY house you like know that you don't like XYZ (your legacy chapter), and you don't want to end up there, because you like Old Row better. Be sort of nice at XYZ, but make sure you act really bored when you are talking to them.
Maybe they'll drop you and you won't have to worry about it, and the to houses you want will know that you don't want XYZ, so they might keep you around!

It isn't bad advice. She's a PNM who hasn't been through recruitment, who has already decided she doesn't like her legacy house (and mentioning bottom tier pretty much tells you why). No matter how she responds, there is no way she's met 400 girls to say she doesn't like that house.
If she did what #1 said, her house would know that they'll be dodging a bullet by keeping her around.
The honest answer is to not let ANY house know that she's a legacy. There's no law requiring her to inform her legacy house that she's a legacy, or any other house. She goes in like everyone else and sees what happens. Sure, Mom or grandma probably want to write an introduction to their legacy house, but she should just tell them not to because she wants to make her own decisions. Done and done.

Also, she should absolutely NOT take a bid to her legacy house, even if it's her only option at Pref. She doesn't like them, after all, and she will be taking a spot from someone who just might.

i only know two girls from my legacy ouse, but a lot of my friends from high school are in other houses, so i feel like id fit in a lot more with them

One thing to think about is do you want to do high school all over again or branch out? You can have friends in other houses and be apart of a different sisterhood.

If you know a lot of girls in other houses and they like you, you might get in. There honestly isn't a for sure way for most girls to know what house they are going to end up in. But don't be rude to your legacy house though because tons of girls get cut by their legacy houses. There are way more legacies than there are spots open for most houses. Keep an open mind because you will end up where you are supposed to be. If your head is too far in the sky you won't end up anywhere.
