odd reasons for not wanting a certain house, anyone?

Did anyone else come into recruitment/rush not wanting a certain house or houses for petty, goofy, or silly reasons? I’m not talking about reputation or tiers, I mean just some strange reason. If you did, what was the reason, and how’d it go for you?
When I went through recruitment, I decided before I even got here that I didn’t want anything to do with Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma, or Kappa Alpha Theta, because it was all that everyone talked about in my high school back home, and I got sick of hearing about how they were the only options. Even though PKT isn’t a thing here, I still was annoyed at hearing about them, and decided that I would not be joining any of them.
When I actually got here and went through recruitment, I really liked two of the three, even preffed at one of them, but ended up in a completely different house. My best friend is in one of those houses, and I’ve met great girls in all of them.
Incidentally, my mom, who was not Greek in college, told me to stay away from Tri Delt because she remembered those SNL skits in the 80’s or 90’s. She was obviously joking.
Anyone else?

I am old enough to have experienced the spring teas. When I came for that me and my friends were basically ignored at Gamma Phi where all the pnms were wandering into the house, but all the actives stayed to themselves in little groups. It was pretty weird. Me and my friends all decided to put them on the bottom of our lists. Three years later, I think something must have been going on because GPB is better than that and they have a lot of great girls.

I didn’t really think I wanted to be a squirrel or a turtle. And I didn’t want Christmas colors. But I didn’t really know a lot of details about sororities before I joined. They all seemed a bit foreign to me with all the Greek terms.
Then I found my home and jumped in and love it.

I was definitely biased for/against certain sororities based on their reputations back where I'm from. Lots of really mean girls from my high school went DG or DDD at our state school and I didn't want to share letters with them. Meanwhile, one of my biggest role models from high school went Theta, so I really liked them and the idea of being sisters with her.
I also had a friend whose mother jokingly told her not to join a sorority that wasn't "smart enough" to have three letters. Lo and behold she ended up in a house with only two letters in its name and her mom (again, jokingly) gave her hell for it.

All of the mean girls from my high school, no matter what university, normally go PM or KD and I just couldn't see myself being sisters with them. Absolutely no one goes AGD or AXO from my high school and I also didn't want to go a house I didn't know anyone in anywhere or wasn't strong in my home state.

Where I’m from old row and New row isn’t a thing but so you can understand New row sororities are stronger and more desired. Phi Mu where I’m from is referred to as “Phi Moo” so even though it’s not like that here I didn’t want people from my hometown or honestly outside of the state of alabama referring to me as a Phi Moo also didn’t want to be in the “Ronald Mcdoland house” just cause idk honestly now looking at It that’s stupid lol but ya it’s also embarassing to be a DZ gamma phi or kappa where I’m from oh and I personally dropped alpha gam cause I think there’s like one alpha gam chapter in my state and It sucks
