took off XO because I don't think they fit the "everyone wants" criteria, same reason why I think OP left off KD

I am from far OOS and in an OR house that I love. During rush my house was the one where I felt I always had the most genuine conversations and made the best connections. I talked to girls from my area on IWT and pref, but the rest of the time I talked to instate girls and they were incredibly nice and fun people. Don’t think that because you are from OOS or don’t have connections that you won’t be noticed by the OR houses. They are just looking for genuine girls that they think will be a solid addition to the house. As long as you can make yourself stand out from more then just what is on your resume, houses are going to want you back. I didn’t want to go OR for the reputation, I just wanted the house where I felt most welcome and at home. Whether it is OR or NR go where you think you will be happy.

This is absolute truth. Look hard at insta and girls tagged in each other’s photos. You will see girls from every corner of the US in Old Row. I think this “OOR/OOS will not fit in OR” thing is a tactic for the new row houses to have a fighting chance. Many of the new row houses, actually all of them, are fine and good houses. Compete on your positives. You don’t need to try to tear the OR houses down. This “negative recruiting” is not right.
On the other side, OR people on this site are wrong to make it seem like OR is always better than New Row. OR may or may not be, depending on the person.
