stereotypes
by: curiousAfter freshman year, do people stop caring as much about what house you're in? for both girls and guys, I feel like now (as a freshman) people place so much emphasis on what house you're in and base their whole opinion of you on your house/being a GDI and I was wondering if that changes after freshman year

After freshman year and especially after sophomore year people really stop caring as much. I think a lot of it is because the further you get the more friends you meet in other houses, and it makes you realize how many cool people are in every house.
Especially after being a Rho Chi last year, I can say I have friends in every single house, and I’ve seen how amazing girls their are going into the new PC’s for every single house. Stereotypes are meaningless once you fully realize how many people you really like are all around the row

This is a little true unfortunately. The boys get a little status based on who they socialize with and there is more status in socializing with the old row sororities. Of course the main status symbol is the quality of the date regardless of affiliation, but the letters have some secondary relevance. This is definitely mainly a freshman thing.
