These are what I see as the top houses based on what PNMs are looking for in a sorority:
Top with social/party
kkg, pm, zeta, kd
Top with grade-competitive
axo, xo, agd, adpi
Top with religious/Christian
agd, xo, axo, adpi
Top with connected
kd, ddd, kkg, agd
Top with pretty/beauty queen types
pm, axo, zeta, pi phi
Top with rich
ddd, kkg, kd (old money)
pm, zta (new money)
Top with involved
axo, pm, ddd, agd, xo, adpi
Top with OOS
pm, axo, zeta, pi phi
Top with in state
kd, agd, ddd, kkg, xo

1. ADPi and Tri Delt are tied for grades
2. Pi phi has not been associated with beauty queen types (for the past two pledge classes, maybe pc 2015) and AXO is not a top house for looks (not saying that either of these houses have unattractive girls, it’s just not what their rep is)
3. ZTA’s rep is not with money- it is with social, westcoast attractive types
4. Is KKG not known to have a good OOS girls or do I go to the wrong school?

As to “old money” — we are only in-state kinda old but not really. Those houses are more the “in state country club” girls. If we ever have real old money, and it is rare, it is axo, pmu and Kd actually . Like there are a few real old money here now and they are in those houses (but being old money many would not even know it)

I know some old-line, southern establishment money girls in DDD and KD. Not sure about AXO or Phi Mu.

Ranking sisterhood is harder. Some pledge classes just gel better than others do. It's harder when there are big groups from one place who stick together, but usually even these cliques start to loosen as everyone gets to know each other. With almost 400 girls in each house, you usually can find "sisterhood" with at least some of your sisters if you really try..
bottom line, it's a crap shoot.

“Old money” USED to be kd, kkg, and ddd but trust me, those days are OVER. Taking a few QRs led to tons of QRs. I can assure you that KD and Kappa especially are not taking old money from my part of the State and there is old money here . They are both pure new money or middle class at best.
Look who they are rushing. It’s about to keep going in the same trend.
That being said, OLD money doesn’t equal class. It’s just laughable to hear this about kd and Kappa. They are perfectly good sororities 🙄 but not what they were and haven’t been in years.
Connected?? Connected how? To get a job or to join a country club?

Connected means girls whose families have long traditions at Bama, but may or may not have money. The ones that "first circle" still means something to. Their parents have season tickets on the fifty yard line.

Your definition is sad. The girls I know in kd from my homwtown are living in ranch houses at home and have parents going into debt to but them clothes.
It’s sad. They are too hung up on this to see it. The girls with the real money are chill. The ones without are the ones who even say “old money”.

There is a difference between rich and connected. Two different categories. Some people who are connected are not rich and some people who are rich are not connected.
They have tickets on the 50 because the tickets have been in their family a long time.

Agree that tri delt also always has good grades and they don't get enough credit for that

Don't really have an opinion on money -- who cares?
For OOS in OR houses, phi mu and axo have the most OOS but kappa and tri delt are very highly sought after by many top OOS PNMs and get some of the best OOS girls. KD didnt seem all that interested in OOS in the past although they are catching on, and most OOS girls don't choose AGD or XO (other than Mississippi and Memphis -- mostly because XO is strong at Ole Miss)
