I wish our house would leave the machine. As a women's group, it is embarrassing to be a member. Hopefully, more sororities will follow Theta's lead and bravely separate. I know this discussion has come up in our house before. As for Theta, even though the machine keeps them ranked last, I think most on campus realize they are a lot stronger than their supposed rank. They have their share of people who admire them for refusing to join a bunch of good 'ol boys in the back room. If the machine ever loses grip of the sorority vote, this house with its smart and friendly reputation could have breakout years once they have their new house.

Makes no sense because Theta does great with the honor societies year after year without needing the insurance or pull of the machine. I really don't think there is a big deal for us, it helps the fraternities but the sororities are used in this relationship. I resent our participation and hate the manipulation. I think we are strong enough to stand alone.
