dues
by: HonestyI’m a phi mu legacy, but I have to pay for my own dues and it’s steering me away from them. How much exactly are semester dues?

You can get some of this information from Panhellenic, but it won't be an apples to apples comparison because there's a base amount and then there's extras. Like you might have member dues but you'll also have to set aside money for pledge/initiation fees, badge fees, food, housing (if you move into the house) or parlor fees, gifts, parties, trips, etc.
If you know any Phi Mu actives you can ask them privately. I wouldn't discuss finances during recruitment because it will just look tacky like you can't afford it and might get you cut. Don't worry though there are always a few girls who work part time on the side so you can ask your sorority's treasurer or finance person about getting onto a payment plan after you're initiated.
My advice is to get a brand ambassador or modeling job on IG, it's easy money for not a lot of work. Good luck!

The cost of one house is never going to be dramatically more than any other.
Find a job that pays above minimum wage and work there as much as you can fit into your schedule while balancing classes. I worked 16 hours a semester my freshman year and now I do 24. There's also babysitting and tutoring which might fit your schedule better.

Is “become an Instagram model” really a job that pays honest money? I’ve only seen like less than 5 girls actively selling anything on their insta and none of them are in “respected” houses. And is the money from selling Red Bull and diet pills really that good or are you implying the easy money is from selling “extras?”
