is wearing makeup neccessary?
by: pnmI'm OOS and I feel like any face makeup I wear during rush would just look terrible and melt off quickly. If my skin is clear and I'm tanned then does it matter if I only wear mascara and lipgloss? I know this sounds super pretentious but I'm actually wondering if it matters if your makeup needs to look formal and everything

Honestly you will look better doing the minimal makeup you’re used to than trying to figure out how to do a full face that won’t melt off in the humidity (I’ve been here for four years, still haven’t figured it out lol). Wear what you feel comfortable and confident in in a way that enhances your natural beauty! I think you’re totally right to want to look formal enough, but I think the key is just having your hair done and looking put together, even if that only requires mascara and lipgloss
If a house doesn’t want you because your style isn’t full beat glam, it wouldn’t have been a good fit anyways.

This is more anecdotal than anything, but in my Rho Chi group a friend of mine (who is very naturally pretty) went through more than one round of rush without wearing any makeup at all and she went Phi Mu (which obviously has a major reputation for being conceited and looks based). So (and please don’t take this the wrong way) if you’re pretty enough to get away with minimal makeup and you don’t like wearing a ton of makeup anyways, don’t waste your time trying to fight to keep a bunch of it on all day when you could just as easily wear a little and just be able to do minor touch ups throughout the day

A girls makeup is whats impressive to you? Thats so sad that you would judge a girl (who could potentially be a sister) based on how blended her fcking eyeshadow is. Your house has some odd values
