pref night 3 to 2

by: Pnm

So we were told pnms will now be prefacing two houses instead of three. Will this make the pref night cuts a lot harder? Also why do you think it was done because there are a lot of houses here thanks

Can’t say what the effect of 3 to 2 for pref will be in regard for cuts. I don’t think it will affect actual pref night, but rather the cut from sisterhood to pref (8 to 2). This is a huge cut!!!!!! They are changing it because they found going to a third house was kinda irrelevant. Most girls didn’t have a real interest in their third house.

Theyre changing it so sisterhood is 6 so you cut 6 to 2. Still a large cut just not as big Atleast

@Tchb, do you think that they will change rush from 16->12->8->3 to 16->11->6->2? or 16->12->6->2?

Houses do not make cuts on pref night; PNM's are ranked, not released. PNM's who attend two prefs and put both houses on their pref card are guaranteed to receive a bid from one of those houses, not necessarily from their first choice. PNM's who are invited to one pref and attend and put that house on their pref card will receive a bid from that house. PNM's who attend two prefs and rank only one house (suiciding) run a strong risk of not getting a bid at all.

I think they meant cuts previous to pref, since there will be less party slots (I assume)

It will not impact cuts as the person above me explained so well.

This is not just an Alabama change but an NPC change. PNMs are much more likely to be happy on bid day when their "last choice" is simply their runner-up.
