how many credits should i take first sem?

If I'm going through recruitment first semester, should I only take 12 credits so I don't get overwhelmed?

I took 12 and did fine but I had a lot of friends who took 17 and did great as well! Determine it off of your own personal ability to handle a lot on your plate.

Sign up for 15 hours so that you can drop one class if you need to. If you do 12, you are stuck if you get a crazy.

very good advice @2 -- sign up for 15, have room to drop a class that you may struggle in. It is important to get off to a good start or at least don't start off in a hole. You can take summer classes to make it up and stay on track. So many people take harder classes a junior college summer after first year.
