It's not a ranking, it's tribes. OP is trying to compare the houses by culture and mentality. It's hard to do, but I'd say OP is pretty close to the money.

@bc but (at least the way I interpret it) the same “tribe” implies some level of cross-rushing or running in the same social circles. Like alpha chi, theta has a lot of girls who are very smart, involved, and high achieving, and maybe not big partiers or super social. However, thetas girls and alpha chi’s girls are NOT interchangeable. Like @what said, alpha chi is at the very top and theta is at the very bottom and they definitely are typically running in the same circles

The OP is actually good and interesting if you accept that it is not a rank. I think by "tribes" they mean personalities and who would get along with who totally outside of greek life. Like who would be at your table in High School Musical... The collections indicate an honor roll type (AXO, etc.), a socially oriented group of "popular" types (the PM, KD, Kappa), the band/music/drama types (DG, etc.) and a "don't care" kind (DDD, etc.). When viewed that way, it is good information but, like everyone on this board, has to be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Y'all are missing the point of tribes. It is not cross rushing or equal standing it has to do with the types of girls we each take. Remove connections and hometown friends and girls from any of the first row of houses could be interchangable. Remove their letters and send them off on campus and people would likely guess they were in one of those three houses. Same with the second tribe. They are the girls getting into honor societies and leading organizations all over campus; smart and confident but not huge partiers. Without letters we could not tell which house they were in but we could name their tribe. The last row is a mixed bag of odds and ends with a mix of all types of women - some beauties, some partiers, some involved, some smart. This list works with what happens on campus.
