can an alum take a rec back???

I've heard about horror stories about Alums "warning" houses about certain girls but that's just rumor.

Is there something about you to warn us about?

My mom has written several recs for various friends and sibling's friends. She also has refused to write one for someone she wouldn't recommend. I really don't think anyone who has already submitted a rec would take it back. MOST grown women aren't petty like that. I mean unless you went crazy and set your ex's house on fire or something haha

Most houses are not taking recs yet so best to keep trying to see his mom to make peace with her on your very good reasons. She may not like your decision but she can respect it if she knows.

How did you get off on the court tangent? She said nothing about taking anyone to court. You should forget about it and move on....most likely the guy is just saying that to get to you for breaking up with him. If she already sent in the rec saying nice things, how credible would her second rec be saying terrible things.

If you are worried, go to local alumnae boards and ask if an alumna will help you with recs.

She called me in less than a minute and assured me that wasn't the case.
I just panicked at the idea of losing all of my Bama alum recs at once.

You are concerned, find recs from other ladies who are members of those same sororities. Let's say the mom is just being nice to your face and she intends to send in a no rec because you broke up with her son. 2 positive recs might just offset those negative ones. Ultimately it is how you shine during rush, but a good rec might give you the ability to shine.
