This is not a bashing post, just genuinely curious. On a lot of ranking DG is ranked in the middle of new row (often over APhi GPhi, and even sometimes ADPi) and no one ever really mentions them as a bottom house, which I think is interesting because their PCs haven’t been very impressive and no one seems too interested in them. Do they stay positioned there just because their grades are decent and they don’t do anything that draws negative attention to them?
Once AOPi and DZ are rushing out of new houses and if GPhi continues to be popular during rush I suspect DG will have a rough time during rush, do you think they’ll find themselves in the bottom tier soon? Or is there something about them that I’m missing?

From my experience with my DG friends, this is what i’ve gathered. Good sisterhood and typically well liked by the fraternities that they have good relations with. With that being said, they definitely have quite a few girls who aren’t very impressive when it comes to looks or class. They fly under the radar though because they don’t really cause any drama which is good for them because it’s made it to where they have avoided stereotypes.

When it comes to grades ADP and AOP beat DG.
When it comes to sisterhood they have either the best or second to best after ADP.
When it comes to looks they are behind Alpha Phi, but tied with ADP. If Gamma Phi continues to recruit based on looks (last pledge class) they will surpass ADP and DG, but currently they still have their older pledge classes that are very mixed.
When it comes to their philanthropy they are probably the best or at least on top.
Socially they are mediocre. Alpha Phi and ADP beats them. They are equivalent to AOP/DZ, but DZ is more of a party house.
They aren’t a machine strong house like AOP.
In my opinion they are middle tier. HOWEVER, if they don’t recruit an amazing pledge class next year Gamma Phi, AOP, and DZ will gain on them. Big areas of improvement for Gamma Phi grades and sisterhood, AOP needs to improve in recruitment and looks, and DZ needs to improve their sisterhood and retention rates.

Because XO gets great in state girls usually, great grades, great involvement etc. They don’t really appeal to lots of OOS but they are a first choice for a certain type of in state. DG is not generally a first choice for OOS. (I said GENERALLY obviously there are exceptions)

Everyone has their own idea of fun, speak for yourself, I’m sure some girls don’t view your house as their idea of fun either.

Gphi’s older girls may be a mixed bag when it comes to looks but after they graduate they will have nothing in terms of grades. Hopefully they will use their new popularity during rush to get more well rounded girls instead of just looks but given the past two years it doesn’t seem likely
