how hard is it to join sophomore year?

Somebody once told me you had to be pretty to get in as a freshman and gorgeous to get in as a sophomore. I'm not sure I want to rush right away, do would it be really difficult to rush as a sophomore? I don't really need a top tier house, but if bottom tier is all I can get it might not be worth it.

There is a separate quota for sophomores so they aren't competing with freshmen for spots. As a sophomore, your college grades and campus involvement will get close scrutiny, as well as which actives have gotten to know you and any reputation you have made for yourself on campus, good or bad, so it's not about looks. And you would be lucky to get into any house here, so check your "tier" attitude and do us all a favor and don't rush if that's what it's all about to you.
