need clarification

I have a question about recs. It says on the Panhellenic website that houses can receive recs from alumni and collegiate members. Do collegiate members mean only at other school sororities or can you ask someone that is in the sorority at Alabama to write you one as long as you ask before May 1st?

Only some sororities will accept current members recommendations, but they have to be from another chapter of that organization.

If you have a current friend in a chapter here their opinion is more important than a rec anyway. You still need a rec though.

From what I understand and what many of the Alabama sorority websites state, only some accept collegiate members and those that do REQUIRE it to be from another college other than bama.

For sure KD actives can write recs, not sure about others. Most are alums only though.

If you do know actives, you can ask them if they can get you in touch with someone to write your Bama rec. Chances are they know a Bama alum (very strong) or their own family members that can write one for you.

KD actives can write recs for another chapter, not their own. This is the case with any sorority that accepts recs from collegians; only for another chapter, never their own.

And the collegiate member must be in good standing to write a rec. If inactive or suspended then they cannot submit a rec.
