if you have girls really really pulling for you, you COULD make it into a house. Even then, it would be a really hard rush. Most houses have a cutoff GPA of 3.0 and have to go through nationals to allow any girl below that a spot.

It is much easier to rush with a lower GPA as an upperclassman!

Realistically you’re options would mostly be aphi, dz, and maybe gphi. They would be the most likely to take a cute girl even if she’s a grade risk

If you rush, don’t get your hopes up and have realistic expectations that you will not have many options and might get dropped altogether. If you are ok with that, might as well rush and see how things go. If it’s going to really break your heart to not have a great rush experience, try and get good grades freshman year and look into COB/ rushing as a sophomore

Just be ready for early cuts from the OR and the academic oriented NR. Leaves you most likely with GPB, DZ, DG, ZTA, but even those are getting pickier on taking grade risk.

I had a GPA like that for rush and the houses I had after IWT’s were gamma phi, dz, and aopi, and I consider myself very normal, good looks, had money, well dressed, and cleaned myself up nice. However, i was a sophomore and had no connections whatsoever. I even thought I had amazing conversations in most houses too except 2 or 3 so just be ready for big cuts. I ended up dropping completely

Sorry, but we would. We hard cut at 3.0 and going that low is only for legacy girls. I had just under a 3.0 from ( a very competitive and private) HS, far OOS. I didn’t rush my freshman year because I wanted to just do college, but being in a sorority was something I definitely was interested in pursuing. I had a 3.4 after my freshman year and I made a few in house connections with different sororities. I had a very good rush experience and almost a full schedule throughout, both with old row and new row. In my case, waiting was the perfect decision and I still had a fun and productive freshman year.

I rushed in 2016 as a freshman with a 2.8 GPA, far OOS, great recs, come from money, pretty, legacy to DG, and I was invited back to DG, DZ, and AOPi for philanthropy and then dropped by all three. I rushed again as a sophomore with a higher GPA and I love my house. You likely won’t be asked back to any houses because Panhellenic is really recommending pnms have a 3.4 or over for Rush this year. If you want to rush so you can see all the houses during ice water teas, then go for it. But don’t expect a bid.

Houses don’t want grade risks because if you couldn’t handle high school, they probably believe you can’t handle college and being in a sorority (a lot of responsibilities). Unless you had extenuating circumstances like a death in the family, illness, abuse, etc.you should probably just focus on academics for now.
