Hi, I go to school in Arizona and the aphi chapter at my school is all blonde girls, insta-models, rich, like to party etc.

If you look at Alpha Phi on their respective chapters, they are always bottom or near the bottom in GPA. Their international does not care at all, they'd rather the chapters be pretty than smart. On some campuses their GPA is far below half of the fraternities.

My friend was an Alpha Phi at Duquesne about 9 years ago...the nationals didn't like their image (too nerdy) so they came in and revamped them and recruited their own type of girls (pretty, popular) to change the composition of the chapter. Today, it's a -&0 of what it was when she was a member.

You want to hear something funny? My mom was a Gamma Phi (I'm in a different house)and she told me that both Gamma Phi and Alpha Phi were started at the same college. Alpha Phi was about a year old and tried to recruit the daughter of the college president. She refused to join because they didn't seem to be compatible with each other. So she started her own sorority -- Gamma Phi.

Yeah one of gphi’s founders actually wrote alpha phi’s constitution before deciding she didn’t want to be a part of it

That happened all the time back then. I seriously doubt Alpha Phi was recruiting the "hot party girls" of the 19th century. Lots of fraternities and sororities were formed as offshoots of others. Small groups of founders, someone didn't agree, half the time petty, small stuff, so they founded other organizations. I am not 100 percent pro APhi, but this is such a stupid argument.

I don't think she was explaining the Alpha Phi recruiting policies. I think she was just telling a funny story about the founding of two houses. I do think it's telling that the girls that founded Gamma Phi didn't want to be Alpha Phis.

Come on. I am cracking up that yall are acting like you get your research off anywhere but Greek Rank. True or not, it just is funny.
Plus many of my friends go to Texas and the Aphis there are great. They are hot, but they are smart. They rank 11th in grades...with a 3.44, with the highest GPA being a 3.6. So ALL there sororities are filled with smart girls. So they are pretty and smart. The two are not mutually exclusive.

They suck at Texas. They were the lowest of low tier before they did the same thing there and recruit only for looks. That's why they have the same kind of rep there. Also, #11 in grades is nothing to brag about when there are only 12 NPC sororities and SDT doesn't count. AFlea is all communication and education majors at a smart school and they still can't manage to get anything better than last place GPA. Hahahaha

Yeah this is true at like every school, it’s crazy. I’m from the west coast, and they’re like that at all the CA schools they’re at, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Utah, CU Boulder, ASU, and of course, Arizona.

This is so funny because I have an aunt who was an alpha phi at cornell in early 2000s and nationals came in and made all the girls go early alum, even girls who had just been initiated so they could start over with pretty girls.

My aunt was pretty devastated that the current girls weren't even given an option to reapply to the chapter or whatever so she wants nothing to do with nationals

I’m thinking of going through APhi’s recruitment at UF as a sophomore because I thought it’d be easier to get a bid than during formal but now I’m not sure..
